Novice Program Info

The Roseville Novice Speed Skating Program is a non-profit, entry-level speed skating program offered through the Roseville Parks and Recreation Department. The program is open to all metro-area skaters ages 6-14, who would like an introduction to the sport of speed skating. Speed skates are available for rent.

The main goal for the program is for kids to learn proper skating techniques so they learn a skill to enjoy throughout their life, and most importantly, have fun doing so.

Participants must be able to skate independently.

Classes are 5:30 - 6:30 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting November 16, 2017 - February  20, 2018. No class on November 23, December 26, January 4, 11 and 25.

Try Speedskating free on November 14, 2017 at 5:30pm.

Price is $99 for Roseville residents and $109 for non-residents

New Summer Indoor Speedskating Course

Beginning this summer, the Roseville Skating Center will offer one new summer course for prospective speedskaters.

Beginning Ice Skating for Speedskaters

This class will focus on developing the fundamentals that a new skater will need to learn in order to learn to speed skate. Curriculum will introduce skaters to the basics of speed skating, teach overall skating basic skills for all ice sports and provide motivation to continue improving skating skills. These skills will build a foundation that will aid skaters throughout the rest of their skating careers.
