One lap around the OVAL's track equals 400 meters, 4 laps around makes 1 mile!
How do you keep the ice from melting in the fall and spring when the temperatures can be so warm?
The OVAL has a state of the art cooling system that includes 800+ tons of refrigeration and 84 miles of underground piping to cool the 110,000 square feet of Oval ice.
Does anybody famous ever use the OVAL and Roseville Skating Center?
Yes, the OVAL and Arena have been lucky enough to have the likes of former Olympians such as Dan Jansen, Bonnie Blair, Paul Wylie, Neal Broten, and the Ex-Governor of our great state, Jesse Ventura. Just to name a few!
What types of events do the OVAL and Roseville Skating Center host?
Due to its uniqueness the Roseville Skating Center is able to host many different kinds of events and activities. Some include: World Cup Speedskating, World and National Bandy Championships, Aggressive Skating Association qualifying competitions and the Minnesota Wild jersey unveiling ceremony. The Banquet facilities are often host to wedding ceremonies, meetings, church groups, and many other social activities.
When are the public skating times for the Arena/OVAL?
There are two ways to find out this information. Either pick up a monthly public skating schedule at the Skating Center or call the prerecorded Roseville Skating Center 24-hour skate-line at (651) 792-7191 for public skating times and updated cancellations.
Does the OVAL/Arena rent skates for public skating sessions?
The OVAL and Arena rent skates for all public skating sessions. Sizes include children's 10-5, and adult sizes 6-13. During the summer season, the Oval rents in-line skates and provides free protective equipment of all sizes.
Does the Roseville Skating Center provide skating lessons?
Yes, the Skating Center has lessons for ice skating for children, speedskating for adults as well as hockey schools for children. Please call (651) 792-7007 for more information.
Do you have a lot of "stuff" in your skate park?
The Roseville Skating Center is proud to say that we have the largest aggressive skate park in the Midwest, and it continues to grow annually.
Does the Roseville Skating Center host birthday parties?
